Guru Yoga Hinayana Buddhism Satipatthana Sutta

Guru Yoga. Satipatthana Sutta or four settlements of care is one of the meditation exercises core Hinayana Buddhism. These exercises are great for meditation, as Gautama Buddha used to achieve the liberation and reach Nirvana.

Attention to the breath: Counting. Every day, preferably in the same place and same time, the disciple who follows the path of the Master, should sit in meditation position (not meditate immediately after eating). Strong as a mountain in the lotus position, the feeling that you should get is one in which a body feels like dry wood. At this time entrecierra eyelids, the eyes are looking towards the ground, about half a meter of where you are seated. Regularises and relax your breathing, keep calm and rhythmic. Focusing all your attention on the upper lip just below the windows of the nose.

Here is where you should keep your attention rather than just observe and feel the air entering and leaving. Start now to mentally count your exhalations, do it for a period of approximately ten minutes. You have to have only one exhalation so that a full breath (inhalation and exhalation) is one. You start with one, two ... to ten. Then one returns to again and so on up to ten (do not run, count of one to ten quiet breathing takes about a minute). If you lose an account or a return to distract you. It's that simple. The good thing about this exercise is that it rejects all reasoning and thinking mind is silenced, when this happens, the waves are calm thinking and achieves gradual concentration of the mind on one point.

Passengers thoughts naturally fluctuate in the mind are not in themselves an impediment. You must accept and understand from the outset that, however carefully that you have your breath, you're going to continue to receive what is in front of your line of sight, since your eyes are open, and still hear the normal sounds, since your ears are not clogged. And because your brain is not asleep, go through your mind several thoughts. Everything is normal, since it is that each body or authority to perform its function. They do not hinder or diminish the effectiveness of your practice, unless they try to control, eliminate, or watch your attention on them.
